Cheapest Europe eSIM in 2026: Price per GB, Trip by Trip

October 5, 2026

Cheapest Europe eSIM in 2026: from $1.99 for a one-day pass to $0.39 per GB on a 120 GB plan, compared by trip length
The cheapest Europe eSIM depends on how much data you need, not on the sticker price.

The cheapest Europe eSIM in our catalogue depends on the trip. For one day, a 1 GB day pass costs $1.99. For a week, 10 GB across 34 countries for 30 days costs $7.54, the same price as a 10 GB plan for Italy, Spain or Germany alone. For a month of heavy use, 120 GB costs $47.04, or $0.39 per GB, the lowest per-GB price of any Europe plan we sell. A country-only plan is rarely cheaper than a Europe-wide one, so start with the regional plans.

“Cheapest” is easy to get wrong. A $2.85 plan is cheap until it runs out on day two in Rome. A day pass looks cheap until you add up seven days of it. We sorted all 54 regional Europe plans and the single-country plans for the most visited countries by what you actually pay for your trip, using our catalogue on 5 October 2026. Every price here is a plan we sell; this is not a comparison with other shops.

  • Lowest price: $1.99 for a 1 GB, one-day pass, sold for France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
  • Lowest for a week: $6.00 for 5 GB across 35 countries, or $7.54 for 10 GB across 34 countries, both valid 30 days.
  • Lowest per GB: $0.39 on the 120 GB plan, which also includes a French number with unlimited EU calls.
  • Single-country plans: 10 GB costs $7.54 in Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Portugal, the Netherlands and Switzerland, exactly the same as the 34-country Europe plan.

Cheapest regional Europe plan at each size in our catalogue, 5 October 2026.

The per-GB price falls quickly up to 10 GB and slowly after that. For most trips of one to three weeks, 10 GB at $7.54 is the sweet spot: it covers about 500 MB a day for a fortnight, runs at full speed, and includes Switzerland and the UK. Our Switzerland and UK coverage check explains which Europe plans leave those two out.

Day passes: cheapest for one day only

Single-country day passes give 1 GB a day at high speed, then 512 kbps. They are the cheapest way to get online for a single day, but from three days on they cost the same as a regional plan that gives you more.

Trip length Day pass (one country) Regional plan, same price
1 day $1.99 for 1 GB None cheaper
3 days $4.20 for 1 GB a day $4.20 for 3 GB over 30 days, 35 countries
5 days $6.00 for 1 GB a day ($5.79 in France) $6.00 for 5 GB over 30 days, 35 countries
10 days $7.54 for 1 GB a day $7.54 for 10 GB over 30 days, 34 countries

The regional plans have no daily cap, work across borders and last 30 days, so for anything longer than a day they are the better buy at the same price. The one-day pass is still useful for a layover or a day trip.

Is a country-only plan ever cheaper?

Rarely. On 5 October 2026, the cheapest 10 GB for 30 days cost:

Plan Price Covers
Italy 10 GB, Spain 10 GB, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Netherlands, Switzerland $7.54 each One country
France 10 GB $7.79 One country
Europe 10 GB $7.54 34 countries

At the same price, the Europe plan also covers a side trip from Milan to Lugano or Paris to London. The exception is a trip that needs something a regional plan does not offer, such as a UK number with minutes.

Unlimited: cheapest per day, with caps

Plan Price What “unlimited” means Countries
EUconnect Unlimited, 7 days $11.00 3 GB a day at 20 Mbps, then 1 Mbps 28, no Switzerland
EUconnect Unlimited, 10 days $14.00 3 GB a day at 20 Mbps, then 1 Mbps 28, no Switzerland
Europe Premium Unlimited, 10 days $27.44 60 GB at full speed, then 2 Mbps 35, no UK

Unlimited is only the cheapest choice if you would otherwise use more than about 20 GB in a week or two. For everyone else, a fixed plan costs less. Our explainer on whether unlimited eSIM data is really unlimited covers the caps in detail.

How to pick the cheapest plan for your trip

  1. Estimate your data: about 500 MB a day for maps, messaging and browsing; 1 to 2 GB a day with video or hotspot. Our travel data guide has the details.
  2. List your countries, including day trips, and check Switzerland, the UK, Monaco and the Balkans separately.
  3. Pick the smallest plan that covers both from the table above, and prefer 30-day validity so a late flight does not waste anything.
  4. Install before you fly; these plans start on first data use in a covered country.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest eSIM for Europe?

For one day, a 1 GB day pass at $1.99. For a week or two, 10 GB across 34 countries for 30 days at $7.54, or 5 GB across 35 countries at $6.00. Per gigabyte, the 120 GB plan at $47.04 is cheapest at $0.39, on 5 October 2026.

Is a Europe eSIM cheaper than a single-country eSIM?

Usually it costs the same. 10 GB for 30 days was $7.54 for Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Portugal, the Netherlands and Switzerland, and $7.54 for the 34-country Europe plan. France was $7.79. At the same price, the regional plan also covers side trips across borders.

What is the cheapest Europe eSIM with Switzerland?

Europe 1 GB for 7 days at $2.85, Europe Special 5 GB at $6.00 and Europe 10 GB at $7.54 all include Switzerland and the UK. EUconnect plans are cheap but leave Switzerland out, so check the country list if your route crosses the Alps.

What is the cheapest unlimited eSIM for Europe?

EUconnect Unlimited: $6.50 for 3 days, $11.00 for 7 days and $14.00 for 10 days, across 28 countries. It gives 3 GB a day at up to 20 Mbps, then 1 Mbps, and does not cover Switzerland. Europe Premium Unlimited covers Switzerland but not the UK, from $18.50 for 5 days.

Are Europe day passes worth it?

Only for a single day. A 1 GB day pass is $1.99. From three days on, a day pass costs the same as a regional plan with more data and no daily cap: $4.20 buys 3 GB over 30 days across 35 countries, and $7.54 buys 10 GB across 34.

How much data do I need for two weeks in Europe?

At about 500 MB a day for maps, messaging and browsing, two weeks uses around 7 GB, so a 10 GB plan at $7.54 fits. With daily video, video calls or a laptop on hotspot, plan on 20 GB, which costs $13.00 to $13.03.

The cheapest Europe eSIM is the smallest plan that still covers your whole route. In 2026 that usually means a regional plan, because the countries cost nothing extra.
