For Australia and New Zealand on one trip, a two-country eSIM is the best value: 10 GB for 30 days cost $12.00 with us on 11 October 2026, against $25.50 with Airalo’s Oceania plan and $59.00 with Ubigi’s. If your trip adds Fiji, our cheapest plan that lists a Fiji network is $20.00 for 10 GB. For Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga or Vanuatu, buy Airalo’s or Ubigi’s plan, because none of ours covers them. For unlimited data across the region, Airalo’s week is $27.00 and Holafly’s $27.50.
“Oceania” is two countries at one provider and twelve at another, so compare the country list before the price. Below are four providers’ own prices for the same plan sizes, the countries each plan covers, and the cost of one plan for both countries against a plan for each. We sell these plans ourselves, so we list their weak points too.

Oceania eSIM prices compared
These are the prices on each provider’s own Oceania page on 11 October 2026, in US dollars. Saily blocked our automated check with a verification page, so it is not included.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 GB, 30 days | $7.00 (Australia and NZ) | $15.50 | Not checked | Unlimited only |
| 10 GB, 30 days | $12.00 (Australia and NZ); $20.00 (with Fiji) | $25.50 | $59.00 | Unlimited only |

| Unlimited, 10 days | Not sold for both countries | $35.00 | Not checked | $37.50 |
| Unlimited, 30 days | Not sold | $73.50 | Not checked | $76.50 |
| Countries on the plan | 2, or more than 75 on the wider plan with Fiji | 8 | 12 | 11 |

Our prices are lower because our plan covers two countries, not eight or twelve. Airalo’s unlimited plans slow to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. Holafly’s have no daily speed cap, but hotspot sharing is limited to 1 GB a day. We sell unlimited data one country at a time: a week in Australia is $14.00, slowing to 384 kbps after 3 GB a day, and 10 days in New Zealand is $28.18.
Which countries each Oceania plan covers
A regional plan only works in the places on its list. These are the ten destinations the four providers’ Oceania plans cover between them.
| Destination | Ours, Australia and NZ | Ours, with Fiji | Airalo | Holafly | Ubigi |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Australia | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| New Zealand | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Fiji | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Papua New Guinea | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Samoa | No | No | Yes | No | Yes |
| Tonga | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Vanuatu | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| French Polynesia | No | No | No | No | Yes |
| New Caledonia | No | No | No | No | Yes |
| Guam | No | No | No | No | Yes |
Holafly’s Oceania plan also lists Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, which helps on a route through Southeast Asia. Our plan with Fiji is a wider plan for Europe, Asia and the USA that lists Vodafone Fiji; it is our cheapest plan that names a Fiji network. If your trip reaches Tahiti or New Caledonia, Ubigi’s is the only one of these four plans that lists them.
One plan for both countries, or one for each?
With the two-country plan, Australia and New Zealand share one allowance and you install one eSIM. With separate plans, each country gets its own allowance and its own choice of network. These are our prices on 11 October 2026.
| Need | One plan for both | One plan per country |
|---|---|---|
| About 10 GB in total | $12.00 for 10 GB shared | Not worth splitting |
| About 20 GB in total | $20.80 for 20 GB shared | $17.80 for 10 GB in each country |
For a moderate amount of data, the shared plan is cheaper and simpler. For 20 GB, two single-country plans cost $3.00 less: Australia at $7.25 and New Zealand at $10.55. They also change the network. Our two-country plans use Optus in Australia, while our single-country Australia plan can also use Telstra, which matters on road trips outside the cities. Single-country prices against Airalo, Ubigi and Holafly are in the next section.
Australia and New Zealand eSIM prices compared
For a trip to one of the two countries, a single-country plan is the cheaper buy. Code eSIM prices were checked on 26 October 2026; Airalo, Ubigi and Holafly prices come from each provider’s own page on 10 October 2026, in US dollars.
| Trip | Code eSIM | Airalo | Ubigi | Holafly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Australia, 10 GB for 30 days | $7.25 | $18.00 | $16.00 | Unlimited only |
| Australia, unlimited for 7 days | $14.00 | $26.50 | Not checked | $27.50 |
| New Zealand, 10 GB for 30 days | $10.55 | $24.00 | $16.00 | Unlimited only |
| New Zealand, unlimited for 5 days | $19.50 | $18.50 | Not checked | $20.50 |
| New Zealand, unlimited for 10 days | $28.18 | $34.50 | Not checked | $37.50 |
In Australia, Airalo, Ubigi and Holafly all use Optus, while Code eSIM’s 10 GB plan can use Optus or Telstra, which matters on road trips outside the cities. In New Zealand, Code eSIM’s 10 GB plan uses One NZ and its 10-day unlimited plan uses Spark. For five days of unlimited data in New Zealand, Airalo’s $18.50 was the cheapest of the four.
Networks, top-ups and where your data exits
The plan page for each of our plans lists the local networks, the country your data exits in, and whether you can add data later. The exit location is the country that websites see you in.
| Our plan | Network in Australia | Network in New Zealand | Data exits in | Top-up |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Australia and NZ, 5, 10 or 20 GB | Optus | One NZ | United Kingdom | Yes |
| Australia and NZ, 12 GB at $12.40 | Optus | Spark | Singapore | Yes |
| With Fiji (Europe, Asia and USA plan) | Optus | One NZ | United Kingdom | Yes |
| APAC, 21 destinations | Telstra, Vodafone | Spark, 2degrees, One NZ | Hong Kong | Yes |
If you want your data to exit closer to the region, the 12 GB plan exits in Singapore and costs 40 cents more than the 10 GB plan. The APAC plan starts its 30 days when you install it; the others start on first data use in a covered country. Our guide to when an eSIM starts counting explains the difference.
When a regional Oceania eSIM is the wrong choice
- You are visiting one country. A single-country plan costs less: 10 GB is $7.25 for Australia and $10.55 for New Zealand.
- You are driving through the outback. Pick a plan that lists Telstra. Our two-country plans use Optus in Australia.
- You are going to the Pacific islands. For Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga or Vanuatu, Airalo’s plan at $25.50 for 10 GB covers them and ours do not.
- You stream video every day in both countries. We do not sell one unlimited plan for both. Airalo’s week is $27.00 and Holafly’s $27.50.
- You need a local phone number. All of these plans are data only. Your home SIM keeps your own number; see our guide to keeping your number with a travel eSIM.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best eSIM for Australia and New Zealand?
For most trips to both countries, a two-country plan. On 11 October 2026, 10 GB for 30 days cost $12.00 with Code eSIM, against $25.50 with Airalo and $59.00 with Ubigi, whose plans also cover Pacific islands. For unlimited data, Airalo’s week is $27.00 and Holafly’s $27.50.
Does one eSIM work in both Australia and New Zealand?
Yes, if both countries are on the plan’s list. Our Australia and NZ plans cover both from $7.00 for 5 GB, using Optus in Australia and One NZ in New Zealand. A plan sold for Australia alone will not connect in New Zealand.
Is there an eSIM that covers Fiji?
Yes. Airalo’s, Holafly’s and Ubigi’s Oceania plans all list Fiji. Our two-country plan does not, but our Europe, Asia and USA plan lists Vodafone Fiji along with Australia and New Zealand, at $20.00 for 10 GB over 30 days.
Which Oceania eSIM covers the most countries?
Of the plans we checked on 11 October 2026, Ubigi’s lists 12 destinations, including French Polynesia, New Caledonia and Guam, at $59.00 for 10 GB. Holafly’s lists 11, five of them in Southeast Asia, and Airalo’s lists 8.
Is one regional eSIM cheaper than two country eSIMs?
For about 10 GB in total, yes: $12.00 for a shared plan. For about 20 GB, two single-country plans are cheaper, at $17.80 for 10 GB in each country against $20.80 for a shared 20 GB plan.
Can I use hotspot with an Oceania eSIM?
All of our Australia and New Zealand plans support hotspot, and shared data comes out of the same allowance. Holafly limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day on its unlimited plan. Check the plan page before you buy elsewhere.
List your countries first. Two countries need a small plan; the islands need a bigger one.
