Why the IP address matters in Hong Kong and Asia
Some of the apps travellers use most are not offered everywhere. TikTok left Hong Kong in 2020, and OpenAI does not offer ChatGPT in Hong Kong, Macau or mainland China. If your connection appears to come from there, the TikTok app has no feed and ChatGPT says it is not available in your country.
